DESIRE TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE
About Us
Our Story
Key Largo Sunscreen was founded by Seth Diener, a Miami Beach native who is passionate about the ocean and preserving our delicate ecosystem. Seth's journey began in the vibrant waters of Miami Beach, where he found adventure, and a close connection to the underwater world. Seth regularly goes to the beach and participates in water activities such as water skiing and kitesurfing. Additionally, Seth has done regular trips to the Florida Keys for snorkeling and scuba diving which opened his eyes to the stunning beauty of coral reefs, yet also revealed a troubling reality - the gradual decline of these once-majestic ecosystems.
Driven by his love for the ocean and a desire to make a difference, Seth embarked on a mission to protect our reefs and marine life. He witnessed firsthand the detrimental effects of plastics and chemical sunscreens on fragile underwater ecosystems and was determined to find a solution. Seth combined his passion for environmental conservation with his entrepreneurial spirit to create Key Largo Sunscreen, the first step in the solution to the destruction of our oceans.

Our Products
At the heart of Key Largo Sunscreen lies a commitment to protecting both our skin and our planet. Key Largo Sunscreen isn't just another sunscreen; it's a testament to Seth's commitment to sustainability and innovation. Crafted with natural, reef-safe ingredients, our sunscreen provides immediate and reliable sun protection, making it ideal for everyone, including children and those with sensitive skin.
Our products act as a natural barrier between your skin and the sun. While chemical sunscreens absorb into your skin and then dissolve the sun's radiation, our mineral sunscreens lie on the top of your skin. This ensures that the sunscreen will not irritate your skin and will block all spectrums of UV light. They contain no additives such as parabens that are potentially harmful to your skin and the oceans.
Our Mission
At Key Largo Sunscreen, our mission is to protect our reefs from the damage that sunscreens are causing. Whether through actually going in the ocean or through the drains in your showers, one way or another, the sunscreen you wear will end up in the ocean. With chemical sunscreens, the chemicals dissolve from the sunscreen and become microscopic particles in the water. These particles then accumulate in coral tissues which causes them to bleach. Bleaching is the process where corals turn white and expel the algae living inside them that they need to survive. Once corals are white for a long time, they die out ,leaving the ecosystem around them without a food source.
By choosing Key Largo Sunscreen, you're not just protecting your skin - you're contributing to the preservation of our oceans for generations to come. Join Seth Diener on his mission to create a brighter, healthier future for our planet, one sunscreen application at a time. Together, let's keep our reefs thriving and our oceans pristine.
